Can Exercise Help with Lower Back Pain?

I have suffered with back pain my whole life as I was born with Spondylolisthesis - a spinal condition that causes lower back pain.

As a child I was given advice which is now known to have been incorrect - I was told to not do sport or exercise. This meant I didn't develop muscle strength and stability, particularly in my core and this made the pain

worse going into my 20s. I tried yoga to manage it but whilst it gave some relief to the symptoms it didn't improve the episodes of pain.

In my 30s I decided to break through the pain barrier and started running which improved my symptoms up to a point. It wasn't until I started a programme of strength training 5 years ago that I saw significant and life-changing improvements.

I am passionate about helping other improve back pain conditions through a tailored-exercise programme and will be specialising in back pain for my Level 4 PT qualification 🙂
