I was motivated to become a PT because of my own personal fitness journey - and how having a mechanical problem with my spine from birth, affected my ability to take part in sports and exercise, and gave me low self-confidence.
I refused to accept that my body couldn't do what people were telling me it couldn't - like have children and do sporting activities - so I decided to do something about it.
Having strengthen my body through a variety of fitness training techniques including running, strength training, yoga, pilates and HIIT, I decided to help others do the same.
I wanted to share my knowledge and understanding of how fitness - in all its forms - can help improve peoples' physical and mental health and wellbeing - and far exceed their initial goals.
For me, being a PT means showing enthusiasm toward teaching, having a caring attitude, being able to motivate others, and being committed to continued learning. It involves listening and understanding each of clients and their needs and expectations, whilst giving them the skills and encouragement they need to get fit and stay fit in the long-term.
