One of my favourite aspects of being a Personal Trainer is working with my clients to improve their form and technique.
In helping to do this, I often find that regardless of whether they're in their 20s or 70s, they develop a new an improved understanding of their body and it's full capabilities - it is a really empowering process.
Technique and form are key over and above every other aspect of training, and especially when starting a new exercise programme.
I have worked with clients who have been going to the gym for years, and had no idea they were lifting weights in the incorrect way - resulting in muscular imbalances and in some case joint mobility issues.
In viewing movement as a skill, my approach is to help people turn that into a long-term skill for life. So whether you train with me for 6 months or 6 years, I am hoping that I will give you the skills to learn how to optimise the fundamental movements of the body - making for a happier and healthy life.
Strengthening the body's movement patterns also needs to start with a strengthening of the mind - so giving people confidence in their new exercise programme is key as well as a massive boost of self-esteem so they have the motivation to put the effort that is required to meet their new fitness goals.
