What does it mean to be the best version of you?

It’s been a reflective week, prompted by the anniversary of the outbreak of Covid-19.

Self-care is definitely a welcome theme that has emerged from the last 12 months.

I’ve been thinking about what it means to be the best version of yourself - both physically and mentally.

At the age of 46, I believe in flourishing whatever age you are and making the most of your physical abilities whilst being kind to yourself.

Here are some ideas to consider when asking yourself this question:

- Delve deep to find out what gives you that spark of joy and sense of purpose and then pursue it!

- Try not to judge or criticise yourself or others - lessen the negative self-talk

- Face the fear of failure and embrace your vulnerability - it is a driving force!

- Don’t be afraid of actually succeeding - positive thoughts make change.

- Don’t be pulled off-course - these are your goals so stick to them.

It’s a bit like the scene in Kung Fu Panda when he opens the dragon scroll - and if you haven’t seen that film (which you should) then it’s all about self-belief and self-esteem, and in finding that, anything is possible.
